Folk / Country / New Zealand
Born and bred in Otago I spent my first 25 years in places such as, Millers Flat, Roxburgh, Oamaru, Dunedin and Glenorchy (where my Father owned the old tourist Pub).
Music has always been in my life: from early (7.30am) piano lessons and singing groups at school through to guitars - Pop-Rock-Country, bands of all types over the next 30 years. Playing in the "Titans" at the Agricultural-Hall Dunedin might date me for some. however during the last 10 years or so I have branched out into songwriting and have to date written some 50 songs. I guess the ones on this album consitute to some sort of synthesis of my early memories of growing up in Otago. The 1998 150 year celebration of Otago finally stirred me to get them down. These days I live in Napier with my wife Lesley and two sons Cole and Marty. I perform my songs from time to time in local cafes.
