Compact Disc CD SLD-100 Douglas Lilburn studied music at Canterbury University and the Royal College of Music, London. His wide range of compositions includes three symphonies, several overtures and other works for full orchestra or string orchestra, song cycles, chamber pieces, piano music and several realizations in the electronic medium. A substantial amount of his output has been recorded and published in Kiwi Pacific Records’ New Zealand Composer Edition. In 1967 Douglas Lilburn founded the Waiteata Press Music Editions and was Founder Director (from 1966) of the Electronic Music Studio at Victoria University of Wellington where, for several years prior to his retirement at the end of 1979, he held a personal chair in music
